Welcome to our Essex PGA website.
Our primary aim is to provide our Essex PGA members (qualified and trainee) a variety of events to play in throughout the Autumn and Winter months. Our events run from October through to the end of March together with County Week, which is always in May.
Essex PGA has been in existence for some 20 years and over that time we have developed into a very active county providing simply loads of events for our professionals to play in. We welcome all Essex Based PGA Professionals to join our association. There is a subscription to pay of course! Qualified Professionals pay £40 per year and Trainees £20 per year. This subscription is payable on January 1st each year. This subscription allows you to play in any of our events.
We have a full calendar of events, every year, without fail (please look at our calendar). We run an Order of Merit (the winner of which gains automatic entry to PGA East Region OOM Events). We strive to cater for our professionals and trainees and pride ourselves on having a number of professional only events, including two major Championships plus dedicated trainee events. In addition, we also have a whole series of pro/ams throughout our playing season. There is always something on, virtually every week. Our events are mainly held at Essex Golf Clubs, but we do travel out of the county occasionally and we also go abroad!
We have strong links with the amateur game too and work with both the Essex County Amateur Golf Union (www.essexgolfunion.org) and the Essex Ladies County Golf Association (www.essexladiesgolf.org) The recent launch of the Essex County Golf Partnership also confirms our commitment to the development of golf across the board (www.essexgolfpartnership.co.uk )
All of our events are run under the auspices of the PGA and their Rules and Regulations apply.
